Dates for September Sassa Grant payments
The first week of each month is usually the time for permanent social grants to be disbursed. The following dates indicate when you will be able to collect your permanent social grant starting in September:
- Older Person’s Grant: Tuesday, 05 September 2023
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 06 September 2023
- Child Support Grant: Thursday, 07 September 2023
How to collect your Sassa grant
By using the Sassa gold card, you can withdraw cash from ATMs or retail outlets to collect permanent Sassa grants. Additionally, the validity period for all Sassa gold cards set to expire in this year has been extended until the end of 2023.
Sassa gold cards are not required to access grant payments for beneficiaries. Sassa Gold card PIN numbers and cellphone numbers are necessary, however, in this situation.
It is important to note that the Social Relief of Distress grant does not have a set payment date. As soon as the grant is available in a beneficiary’s account, Sassa sends them an SMS notification. The SRD grant payment schedule will now again be posted on social media platforms, including Sassa’s website. There are multiple ways for recipients of the SRD grant to collect their grants.

R350 Grant Payment Timing
Each month, Sassa discloses the timing for the payment of the R350 grant to millions of beneficiaries. The agency has announced the period during which successful applicants can expect to receive their relief grant, although there is no fixed payment date for this grant.
Sassa spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi confirmed that applicants for the R350 grant undergo verification to ensure they qualify. In spite of the fact that beneficiaries can only apply for the R350 grant once, Sassa verifies their eligibility every month before the relief grant is disbursed.
The verification checks conducted by Sassa are usually completed by the end of the month. The R350 social relief grant payments will be distributed between the 25th and the end of the month to those who were approved for the grant.
